"Yuri Kochiyama was a lifelong activist. After the events at Pearl Harbor, she and her family and thousands of other Japanese Americans were forced to relocate to internment camps. Her activism led to reparations for Japanese interned during World War II, and she also advocated for solidarity with Black Americans.
